DerbySkinz is dedicated to helping skaters all over the world achieve their dreams of looking great and letting their personality be known to all while jamming around the track.
Auntie Pantie (aka Kathe) has been sewing for over 45 years and brings her sewing expertice to the derby community. She is also an artisan who now creates works of art (rearable art) out of spandex fabrics for all who desire to ‘make a statement’ on the backside of their Skinz.
NastyNiss (aka Nissanne) skates for H.A.R.D. She is allergic to sewing needles so she does all the other stuff necessary to make DerbySkinz run like a well oiled machine.
DerbySkinz is a skater owned family business based out of the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. Our goal is to bring our personal values and ethics into our business environment. We produce and distribute high quality, distinctive roller derby apparel and accessories to the world wide derby community. We are dedicated to creating a unique, fun product with a commitment to keeping it reasonably priced. Honesty, integrity, hard work along with a high level of customer service is the basis of DerbySkinz.
The DerbySkinz Life
It all began in May 2008. Auntie Pantie was making ice skating costumes for Nasty’s daughters. Nasty said “MA I need something shiny to wear for Derby”. Ole Auntie P said ‘Of course my darling daughter’ and began sewing.
2 Days Later: Nasty came home from practice and said “MA they all said Ohhhhhh. I need another pair.” So Auntie P made her a second pair.
Next Practice: Nasty wore them and (figuratively speaking) H.A.R.D. followed her home… go figure.
June 2008-ECE: Auntie Pantie and hubby headed off to Philadelphia with about 200 pairs of panties (now known as Skinz) and set up a booth.
